Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ClassicWorks stores in your browser, what is sent to the shared numbered-game record service, and how Cloudflare helps deliver and measure the site.

No account required

ClassicWorks does not require registration, a player name, or a login. You can play random and numbered Minesweeper games without creating a profile.

Data stored in your browser

The site uses browser local storage for your selected difficulty, reveal or flag input mode, random or numbered game mode, most recently selected game number, and aggregate Minesweeper statistics. Statistics include games started, wins, losses, best local completion time, and win streaks for each difficulty.

This information remains on your device and is not used to restore an unfinished board. You can remove it by clearing site data for ClassicWorks in your browser. Doing so may reset preferences and local statistics.

Numbered-game records

When you finish a numbered game, ClassicWorks sends the game number, difficulty, board-generator version, and completion time to its record API. The record database stores the fastest submitted time for that combination and the date the record was updated. It does not store your name, email address, local statistics, or the complete game board.

A slower completion does not replace an existing record. Record data is retained while the shared record feature operates, or until it is replaced or removed. The current system accepts completion times reported by the browser and should be treated as a lightweight community record rather than independently verified competition data.

Cloudflare hosting and analytics

ClassicWorks uses Cloudflare Pages, Pages Functions, and D1 to host the site and numbered-game records. Cloudflare processes the ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect web requests, such as the requested URL, IP address, browser information, and security signals, under its own privacy terms.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled to measure aggregate page visits and page-load performance. It uses a browser performance beacon. Cloudflare describes this service as cookie-free and says it does not track individual visitors across its customers' sites. Advertising

The game layout contains reserved advertising spaces, but ClassicWorks does not currently load an advertising network or advertising cookies. This policy and any required privacy controls will be updated before advertising or additional tracking technology is activated.
